The hum of laser printers, the noise of saws, and the easy grinding of multiple 3D machines make the Da Vinci classroom at Red Land High School feel more like a futuristic engineering workshop.

Every nook and cranny of this space is an idea being processed, from the complex mathematical problems written on the whiteboard to the mixing of wires and miscellaneous items to create new things.

"Whenever someone does something new or has a good idea in class, they will ring the gong like a prize," said senior Bryce Gund. Above him, he stood in school music Golden musical instruments taken out of the room to celebrate the invention. The students hope that one day will change the world.

"When a child comes up with an idea you haven't thought of or can't come up with the innovation and ideas, it is simply amazing," said teacher Ian Winn, he admitted that some of the ideas even challenge his own knowledge of ideas and motivate He found a solution he had never thought of before.

From playing video games on a skateboard to transforming a hand sanitizer bottle into a refillable marker machine, creativity in class is limited only by imagination.

"I built this speaker from the ground up," said senior Travis White, who used his self-built technology to make music, which is a mix of custom laser-cut panels and 3D printed boxes. "It's crazy to see all this really working together."

The term "crazy" can be used for multiple projects that students are working on. But the crazy thing behind this idea is that they want it to have an impact and reimagine products for a more sustainable future.

"We will continue to work hard until it works," said senior Aidan Campbell, who clarified the motto of the course.

Campbell is collaborating with a group of students on an invention that combines sports with electric power because they fasten an old bicycle to an electrical outlet.

"Most of the children's ideas about this course are that they just want to improve the environment and the world, and they are just children with future thinking," Wenn said.

What exploded outdoors and scattered on a tree in the Red Land parking lot was the remnants of a test rocket fire. This is part of a competition that students plan to participate in this spring to make money and gain recognition from the school district.

"We have kids who say I hope this day will not stop because they just want to continue working with their hands instead of reading books all day," Winn said.

Students seek support for their projects through community donations, internal funds, and assistance from organizations such as the West Bund Foundation.

Most students told FOX43 that they plan to bring their creations to universities and engineering fields.
